What are podiatric insoles?
Podiatric insoles are used for foot, knee, hip and back problems that arise from the misalignment or malfunctioning of the feet. Podiatric insoles are flexible insoles that are made to maintain the position of your feet, correct it or relieve a certain part of the feet. Podiatric insoles or inlays, orthotics or corrective insoles are nowadays measured using 3D techniques. This way, the insoles are very thin, lightweight and reproducible. On average, it takes about one to two weeks for a pair of podiatric insoles to be ready.
Use Podiatric insoles
The (foot) examination has shown that your feet need a podiatric (inlay) sole to function better. A podiatric insole is a flexible inlay to maintain the position of your feet, correct it or relieve certain parts of the foot. Podiatric insoles are loose in the shoe and can therefore be used for several pairs of shoes.
Advice orthotics:
- To maintain leather soles, we recommend rubbing them once a month with clear shoe polish or shoe cream. If the soles do not have a leather cover but a synthetic cover, you can wipe them with a damp cloth.
- Do not wear the soles all day in the first week. Start with 1-2 hours a day, you can build up wearing the soles at your own pace.
- After 2/3 weeks you should be able to wear the soles all day, if this does not work and the soles cause severe pain or blisters please contact us.
- To reduce complaint(s), it is important to wear the soles throughout the day after the build-up phase.
- Keep in mind that muscle pain in the body may occur in the first two weeks of wearing the soles.
- We advise you not to start exercising with the soles until you are completely used to them in everyday life.
- When putting the soles in the shoes, make sure the inside of the shoe is as flat as possible. Remove any (removable) soles with footbeds from the shoe.
- Remove the soles from the shoes in the evening so they can air out.
- Put the soles never on the heater or near the stove.
